Summer week 3 and then some

 We thought this might be our year to celebrate our anniversary big, but it wasn't. With that said, it was a wonderful evening and the perfect way to celebrate our 12th.

 After dinner we spent the evening in Malibu - same city in which we spent our first few years of marriage. It will probably always feel like home there.

 We began that week with our first trip over to the Discovery Center in Sylmar. The kids loved it and we have been back a few times since.

 One of our favorite Summer activities is swimming at Lauren's.

 Packing with Ziplocs has made my vacation life so much easier.

 As has Dramamine

 My dad, being the stud that he is, spent hours upon hours reupholstering the pontoon seats when he realized the new seats he purchased weren't arriving on time for our trip. Nothing like having a handy Mexican in the family.

 Little Miss Rylee brought in the 4th of July in style. We missed them all.

 So we can't say our first trip as boat owners went too smoothly. Day two was quite the adventure when we realized the toon was sitting rather low in the lake. Dad and Andrew brought it to the dock after the men all spent a good hour or so trying to pump out as much water as possible. As they drove the pontoon in, Casey and I ran in to find the trailer, hook up the trailer and then cut in line to pull the toon out of the water. Not a single person complained when they saw the state in which the toon was in. 

 Our 4th of July evening plans did not happen but our friends didn't complain one bit. They pumped water out of the toons with smiles on their faces, they towed us in with smiles on their faces and plans were changed all with smiles on their faces. It ended up being a fabulous evening we wouldn't have changed for anything.

 Grandma Shopping and Grandpa Grandpa joined us this year and I think everyone enjoyed it. The funny part was when they found themselves assuming the Juana and Ito position patiently waiting on the bed for everyone else to be ready to depart. Yup, they were the old folks this trip and proud of it.

Every year just gets more and more fun and I always leave so very proud of the kids for their cooperation and contributions. Can't wait to go again!
