One Reason I Wish

I still had my Saturn is the dent preventive doors. I came out of Target today to find a white scratch and a small dent on my door!!!! I was so annoyed. I wrote a note and put it on the white Suburban next to me and then I decided to wait. So I took pictures of their car and their license plate, and waited. Jackson was not happy about that at all - it was almost lunch time for him and it was almost a 45minute wait!!!!! When she came out she asked her daughter if she did it, I said it might have happened because of the strong winds, but she said no. So we checked the door and it lined up pretty closely, but not enough to prove to the owner that it was her car. So I think I am still going to report it - so much for my long wait. We will keep you posted!

Belated Hockey, On Time Birthday!

First, we want to wish our Uncle Sam a very Happy Birthday! I hope it's going well and that you can't wait a few more days for a face to face Happy Birthday. I am sorry you can't see us on your birthday, but I am sure it's still fun! We love you!

Now for the belated part.... last week, the 23rd to be exact, we took Jackson to his first hockey game. I was nervous because I didn't want to piss off any of the fans around us, especially because we had good seats so I figured they were paying good money to be there, they shouldn't be disturbed by a baby! BUT, Jackson proved to be a fan! It was a lot of fun to get out and do something different. I was so pleased with him and so pleased with all those willing to hold him! So - I recommend hockey games for babies!

12 Days of Christmas

This year Andrew and I decided to exchange little gifts the 12 days before Christmas. It's been a lot of fun and I hope we continue this every year. But what brings me to post about this, is the gift I received yesterday. This was in my stocking:

This coupon is worth a five minute massage from this male model.

Yes this is my husbands face, you can decide if this is his body!

DECEMEBER 11, 2005

Eleven years ago yesterday I went home after school and was basically hanging out before cheer practice that night. I got a phone call from this guy asking me if he could come hang out before practice. He had just gotten out of basketball practice, and so he planned on taking me to cheer practice at 6pm. He came over and we hung out for a bit and then headed back to school. As we were walking into the gym, he handed me his football picture with some writing on the back. It read, "... will you be my girlfriend? You don't have to if you don't want to...". Well I went in to practice and then had to run to the office to get something. One of the other girls went with me so I naturally showed her the picture. She was so excited and she told me I should say yes.

As I am sure you all know, I did say yes and I can't imagine where I would be today had not I said yes. So, Happy 11 Years Andrew - Love You!!!

You Are My Sunshine!

"Many years ago I found myself as part of occupation troops in aforeign land just at the end of a terrible war. It was not long after wearrived in this country before we developed a great love and concern forthe people we were there to watch over. This was especially true of theyoung people, the children. Many times we would find them scavenging in ourgarbage cans looking for food to keep themselves alive. This deeply touchedus, and we wanted to make a more substantial contribution to them. Weraised what money we could and found a local religious group that waswilling to open an orphanage for them. We donated as much time as possibleto improve the facilities and provided them with the operating funds theyneeded."As Christmas approached, we sent letters home to ourfamilies asking that, instead of sending gifts to us, they send toys forthe children in the orphanage. The response of our families wasoverwhelming! Toys arrived daily from our homes."We found a treesuitable to use as a Christmas tree, but we had no traditional decorationsfor it. A lady taught us how to make little birds by folding square piecesof paper, and these became the major part of the decorations for the tree. The presents were wrapped mostly in discarded Stars and Stripes newspapers.I'll never forget Christmas Eve with those children. I am sure many ofthem had never seen a Christmas tree in their lives."We sangChristmas carols to them, but we weren't very good at this. They hadbeen rehearsing for weeks so they could sing a song to us in English. Itwas not a Christmas carol, but it was beautiful. They sang, 'You Are MySunshine.' We were deeply touched with the spirit of the children thatChristmas Eve, especially as they opened the presents sent from ourfamilies. I suppose some of them had not had a toy in many, manyyears."This is a Christmas I'll never forget because we werelearning the true meaning of this great holiday season. The greatest joy wecan receive in life is giving--to bring into the life of someoneelse a little joy and happiness."

Christmas Card Photo Shoots

It was a cheese ball day yesterday - before and after church we were posing for Christmas cards. The morning was our little family shoot, and then in the evening we met up with my family for that one. These shots will not be used, so they won't ruin the surprise you will receive in the mail:)
By the way, Jackson's second outfit was a gift from his Aunt Bri - she was pretty excited about it... I don't blame her!

They Keep Going and Going...

Shots - they take forever to be conquered! It's the second day of "needy Jackson" and I am tired. Today I finally put him in the snugglie and we cleaned the house - upstairs and downstairs. My coughing was doing much better today, until I "ran this marathon". That boy is heavy - especially when you are pushing a vaccuum. Anyhow - it's all good now because Andrew just left to the grocery store - AND HE TOOK J with him!! So, I am off to grading!

A Great Story

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so she brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it so slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?" You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness" He said .. "Then I thank you from my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit. Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words ... "Paid in full with one glass of milk" (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly. Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, God, that Your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands." There's a saying which goes something like this: Bread cast on the waters comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about?

Whose Child Is This?

Just like his mother he is tall and lean - she must be out there somewhere! At 28 1/4in., Jackson is in the 90th percentile for this height. Weighing in at 17-13, he is in the 50th percentile. His head measures in at 45cm., but I am not sure where that puts him.

These days he's enjoying sitting up and playing with the toy Jena sent months ago. She promised he would enjoy and man, DOES HE EVER!!! He also will not stop talking - he must get that from his dad. Smacking his lips is another favorite past-time of his. He's been so much fun and I am way excited to have a Christmas card with someone actually in the onesie!!!

ATTORNEY'S ADVICE - NO CHARGE

Read this and make a copy for your files in case you need to refer to it someday. A corporate Attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company. 1. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO ID REQUIRED."
2.. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card Accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing channels won't have access to it.
3.. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home Phone. If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your SS# printed on your checks. (DUH!) You can add it if it is necessary. But if you have It printed, anyone can get it.
4.. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine. Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to Call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place. I also carry a Photocopy of my passport when I travel either here or abroad. We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on us in stealing a Name, address, Social Security number, credit cards. Unfortunately, I, an attorney, have firsthand knowledge because my Wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieve(S) ordered an Expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had A credit line approved to buy a Gateway computer, received a PIN number From DMV to change my driving record information online, and more. But here's some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know:
5.. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. But the key is having the toll free numbers and your card Numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them.
6.. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit Providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an Investigation (if there ever is one). But here's what is perhaps most important of all: (I never even thought to do this.)
7.. Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations Immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and also call the Social Security fraud line number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over The Internet in my name. The alert means any company that checks your Credit knows your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by Phone to authorize new credit. By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of all the Credit checks initiated by the thieves' purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away this weekend (someone turned it in). It seems to have stopped them dead in their tracks.
Now, here are the numbers you always need to contact about your wallet, etc., has been stolen: 1.) Equifax: 800-525-6285 2.) Experian (formerly TRW): 888-397-3742 3.) Trans Union: 800-6807289 4.) Social Security Administration (fraud line):800-269-0271 We pass along jokes on the Internet; we pass along just about everything. If you are willing to pass this information along, it could really help someone that you care about.

Grrrrrr

My mom mad me so mad today. She decided to eat some of Jackson's green veggies without even asking. When I caught her eating them, I was upset with her because right under Jackson's nose, he's getting a little orange. Most of his veggies are orange, so I cherish his green veggies. I told her my feelings on the matter, but she didn't care. She said I just needed to clean him better. Needless to say, I was pretty annoyed.
Luckily it all worked out because soon after, I woke up!

A Day at the Salon

As part of my birthday gift from my mother-in-law, she treated me to a cut and color. It was nice considering I rarely get my hair done. I seem to touch it up myself, then go see Shelly, then touch it up myself so on and so forth. Considering there were four of us getting our hair done, we arrived at the salon at 3:45pm and didn't leave until almost 10pm. It was such a long journey, but I am to blame for most of that time!!! It was great visiting though and something even crazier happened while we were there. (I know, what could be crazier than getting your hair done for hours on end....)
I was the first to go in because I naturally needed to be the first to get started. There was another woman in the chair next to me. She looked familiar at a quick glance, but I didn't really get a good look. Then she went to hand me a magazine, she looked at me and there it was. Magic was in the air. Well maybe not be it was pretty cool to be looking at my sort of cousin. I hadn't seen her since my wedding so it was so great to run in to eachother by chance. Small world!
Anyway, I am off with my new hair to accomplish a million things today - have a good one!

Finally Out of Bed

We got home from the doctor's office and Jackson went straight to bed. All day Thursday, our little man was in and out of sleep. He was so uncomfortable so Andrew and I took turns staying with him. I got the best break of all when my dad and I went to sushi - thanks for the break Andrew and thanks for the sushi dad!!!!
Around 8:30pm Thursday night, Jackson threw up all over our bed. So Andrew took him in the shower and I changed our sheets. Jackson came out a new man. He was laughing and playing and trying to scream, but due to his illness, it was more of a whisper. Then around 9:15pm, he was back to sleep.
For the last three nights, Jackson has slept in our bed and I am really hoping it won't be a fourth! Last night he lasted an hour in his bed, and then woke up very offended that he was alone. We were going to have a baby-sitter come over today so we could go to the Temple, but Jackson just wants to be with us. Sweet but exhausting.
Yesterday I took Jackson out to Walmart, he did well, but the rest of the day we just hung out. Today on the other hand we went to Costco and Andrew's volleyball game - he is sort of the coach, but he doesn't really coach - it's a bizarre calling. Out of all the sports he plays, volleyball is not one of them.
Anyway, other than me and Jackson being sick, life is pretty normal. We are getting our Christmas stuff up - you will get the finished pictures when... well when we finish!

Just For Fun!

WIFE VS. HUSBAND A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband ask ed sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?" "Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws." (- I love that one!)

W O R D S A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000.The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men...The husband then turned to his wife and asked, "What?"

The Silent Treatment A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.The next morning, the man woke up , only to discover it was 9:00 AMand he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up." Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.
