Our Days with Petey

Petey is the Youngstars Preschool Mascot - Jackson was stoked it was finally his turn to take him home. We had planned on meeting Tina and her kids at Rattler's, so we were pretty pleased Petey didn't oppose. That evening, after much needed naps, Petey asked to go to Costco. Petey knew how badly I wanted to get some glasses, so off we went. Sadly they were closed by the time we got there, but I do believe Petey still enjoyed this trip.What does Andi have to do with Petey, nothing really, but I just had to put these pictures in chronological order. She really is all over her bed these days and so I thought these pictures demonstrated that perfectly.

When Miss Shirley told me that Jackson said he was going to take Petey to sushi, I called Grandpa Grandpa. Being as supportive as he is, he scheduled in a sushi dinner date for today. We were all stuck in awful traffic (it took me 2.5 hours to get home from work) so dinner was a little late, but the kids and Petey did so well. You would have never known is was bedtime when we all arrived!

Although Jackson was a bit of a zombie - But he and Petey sat at their own table and Jackson still made sure he had plenty to eat. After sushi we headed to Costco because my mom needed a few things. Yes, this was our third visit - so yes, I guess that means we seriously went there Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday... Ok we're done for this week!

So overall I think it was a great experience but I do feel bad that Petey isn't nearly as clean as he was when we got him - Sorry Grandma K and Miss Shirley!!

Finally A Break from the Heat

Andi and Ryan have really started to bond. It has been fun to watch their relationship develop because it used to be exclusively Jackson and Andi. Missy was lying down drinking some juice when Ryan decided to bring his cup over and lie down with her.

Tuesday morning, after dropping Jackson off at school, the babies and I headed to the park to hang out with the Phillip's and Osmond's. AND IT WAS COOL!

Sunday we were supposed to head over to the Anderson's so Andrew could reunite with a guy from his mission. He and his family moved to Acton a short while ago and so Annette wanted to set up a time for us all to hang out. Well they had to cancel but we headed over anyway. It was nice and cool after dinner so everyone had a great time laughing and talking outside.

A Date with Giselle

Last week I had Back To School Night and so that left me with a few hours to spare before it began. I was stoked Giselle was able to get a sitter so she could hang out with me at the Simi Mall. Giselle is one of those friends where time and distance do not get in the way of a great time! Thanks for being you Giselle!

I Let Down My Girls

So after years and years of wanting glasses, my wish seems to be coming true. I can't see well - my eyes hurt if I am on the computer longer than a half hour, I can't see street signs real well, when I look at people in a distance, I can't tell who they are - the list goes on. But this all made for a tough Friday . I do this thing where the very first essay my student's write, they do it step by step and I have to approve each step. Well due to this, I read illegible handwriting ALL day Friday. Then I had to drive home in Friday traffic...

BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT because I knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel. It was our monthly GIRLS NIGHT! These girls can make a long, exhausting day all OK! Better than OK!
So once I got into town, I picked up the girls and we went to an early movie - it was awesome because no one was out yet!!!! We saw "Love Happens" and it was SO not what we expected. Later my dad told me Jennifer said it wasn't light hearted, but he didn't share that info with me before. It was still entertaining but there were some real emotional parts as well.
But due to my somber state of mind, I did not take pictures - I know, who am I??? Luckily Tina got a couple, but she deleted the most important shot. Yes, the shot of my entire box of Hot Tamales spread all over the floor - SO SAD!

Anyway, after the movies we hit Chili's - YUM! It was a great night, without fail! And great night for all apparently - When Michalle and I got home, we arrived to two very happy boys vegged out on the couch! It's great that after close to 20 years, these boys are still friends!

A Wes Day

That's what we call the days we can't get Wes off our minds. It all began this morning when Ryan, Andi and I went for a walk at the Canyon Country Park. There is a specific memory there that triggered it for me and then the rest of the day things just kept coming back. This evening I was sitting here working on my power point presentation for Back to School Night and "Sissy's Song" came on. I can only imagine what Wes is saying to the fact that the "Sissy" song makes me think of him, but too bad - it does!

A Dadless Sunday

Andrew decided to pick up a second job. It's through a temp agency so it will come and go, but the hours are not pretty. He is a superintendent for some construction at a few Chase Banks. Because they are still operating, all work is done in the middle of the night. Friday we worked all day, came home around 6 I think and then left for work at 11pm. I don't know how he did it but the best part about it was - HE BROUGHT HOME DONUTS! After a couple hours of sleep, he and Jackson then headed to Andrew's basketball game - yes, he's way lame.

Anyway, he got called in Sunday as well - not pleased about this, he had to go so as to not void his contract with them. The hours were 8am-4pm meaning, I was all alone for church. I made the executive decision that Sacrament was NOT going to happen. Church at 10am sure would be nice every week!

While waiting for Andi to wake up from her morning nap, the boys and I had some time to kill so we took pictures.

I kept going back, trying to slowly wake up Andi, but she wouldn't budge - so I took more pictures.

Church went well but all were ready for some lunch. So what do the kids get for lunch when dad isn't home to cook it and mom is tired, two of their favorites - strawberries and tofu... I know what you're thinking, but they loved it. Lunch done - NAP TIME!

Ryan never really got a nap - he couldn't breathe and so he just kept coughing. It was sad and annoying all at the same time. So once Jackson & Andi woke up, all were sent outside so I could hear myself think!

It was pretty peaceful - until an hour later Ryan poured water all over Andi and she was NOT PLEASED. Luckily the boys stayed outside and Andi just hung inside with me while we waited for dad to get home.

Once 5:30pm rolled around and Andrew returned home, I was OFF DUTY!! BUT... are we ever really off duty? I was in my room catching up on laundry and trying to ignore the kids. Yes, I had this much laundry to deal with - BLA!

But luckily Andrew made a delicious dinner while I folded - fideo and tacos!
