Abuelita at 75

Saturday we had the chance to go to Pasadena to celebrate Abuelita's birthday. This was an almost halfway point for those in Corona, Huntington, Riverside and us.

To be apart of the festivities, Ryan had his first dance!

From translating her Mexican birthday song to encouraging us all to sing to her - Abuelita is a party girl through and through. She makes every gathering memorable!

Big Boy!

This nasty cold that since Christmas has been working its way to everyone I know, landed Jackson in the doctor's office a couple of weeks ago. Then we learned that Jackson sounded asthmatic and needed breathing treatments every four hours. Needless to say, with everything else that has been going on, he didn't get them that often, but when he did, it wasn't pretty. He hated this thing, screamed the entire time. Well the morning after we got home from the hospital, I gave him his morning treatment and he did not cry one bit, he just read a book with me. That afternoon we found out his lungs looked good and he only needed it when he coughed. Last night the coughing woke him up a couple times so tonight, he got a treatment - again, an angel. He even held the mask over his face. This is an awful picture but I was so proud of him, I had to capture it and all I had was my cell.

First SPONGE Bath

Anyone remember Jackson's first one - I think he was a little more upset than Ryan. Ryan is the much calmer child!!! I love how fluffy his BLACK hair is when he's finsihed with bath time!

Home Sweet Home

Sunday was such a great day. We were dying to get out of the hospital and come home to our son with our other son!! Thanks to my family, we came home to a clean house, washed sheets - a home ready for Ryan. Then to top it off, most of my family joined us for the afternoon. Rob and Sharon, Abuelos, Kristal and Adam all made the drive to Acton to greet Ryan. Mark and Andrew made linner and we all just hung out. Later that evening Chris and Cosmo (papa) came over too to join the celebration.

A Change of Pace

(Last night before bed)
We're all showered, dressed, fed and have no where to go. A week ago I would have told you that at this time and date, I would be in the office, making copies and running up to my classroom in extreme discomfort. Instead, I sit here wondering, what do we do today? I Am sure the boys would be content hanging out here, I know Ryan would the little sleepy head, but I am going to have to set up a routine soon!

I am going to share with you the very intimate details of our Valentine's evening. We got home from dinner around 8pm or so and after we got Jackson to bed, Andrew and I headed to bed to watch a movie. Me surrounded in my five pillows and Andrew with an ice pack on his back (we aren't sure what he did, we think it's old age). Once the movie ended around 10:30pm or so, I went to roll over to go to sleep... I wanted so badly to go to sleep but I was miserable. I couldn't move well and I announced, "I am done!"

3:35am I wake up to a pain and I do want to admitt are contractions. Of course I wanted them to be it, but I didn't want to get my hopes up at 11 days early. About fifteen minutes later, I woke up Andrew to tell him I thought I was having contractions. Well we timed them for about twenty minutes and with the pain coming every four to five minutes, we decided to pack our bag - yes, it wasn't even packed yet.

We arrived at the hospital about 5:15am, I soon after asked for the drugs, and everthing flew by from there. It all went so quickly; five and a half hours of labor and about ten minutes of pushing, out comes Ryan Wesley Anderson at about 9:15am.

This video is just an hour or two after Ryan arrived and it was Jackson's first time meeting him.

Now what many of you may not know, is the 15th is Wes and Paige's wedding anniversary. Not only that, but they were sealed about the time Ryan came out. We are so blessed to be reminded of God's plan and that Wes is out there, thinking and missing us all. RYAN WESLEY ANDERSON - 7 pounds 6 ounces 20 inches long

First Time in Bassinet

We are home but I have yet to upload all our pictures. My uncle Rob took this picture and sent it to me, so here you go... till later :)

It's Go Time....

We are at the hospital as of about 5:30 this morning. Rachel was woken up at about 3:30 by contractions. We waited until about 4:45 before heading to the hospital. So here we are, she has her drugs and is ready to go. She is now dilated to approximately 5 cm. We will keep you all posted.
